In order for their to be enough homes for every cat born and alive today, every person in America would need to own 7 cats. That means for my family of six, we would have to own 42. So say by some miracle, all Americans take responsiblity today and gather up our 7 cats, what happens to the ones born tomorrow? |

ANNABELLE
is a sweet affectionate black DSH. She's got a nice temp and is good with children.
She's been around other cats and would make a great second cat. She's declawed so will
have to stay inside for sure. Annabelle was born on 8/09/05. She is spayed, UTD on shots,
FIV/FELV tested and ready for a home. She's very much at risk of going to the shelter.
Can you help?

BARNEY
is a beautiful pure bred Maine Coon. He belonged to someone who put him
outside with his buddy. A kind rescuer has taken him and his buddy in and
is looking for a home for him. He was mistreated by the children in the home,
so we think that probably it's best for him to find a home without young children.

GRETCHEN
Gretchen is Lindy's sister.
She was also a feral kitten pickup. She's a beautiful
tabby/calico mix. She was also born around April/may. She
took a little longer than Lindy to come around but she has
and is doing wonderfully! She also loves attention. She
loves to sit next to you and loves to head butt. She purrs
every time I go into the room. She also had a bad eye--also
an eye infection before I was able to trap her. It also had
scarred over (like Lindy's) and I couldn't fix it. I
couldn't leave either of them out there when I thought that
they had a chance to come around and get a good home. She's
FIV/FELV negative, up on shots and soon to be spayed. She is
a beautiful cat and I think the eye scar makes her all the
more special. It doesn't affect her function at all! She
still climbs w/ the best of them |

JD
neutered male
stray. He was very sick and injured when he found someone
that finally gave him food and helped him some. His eye was
injured. He has been vaccinated and treated for fleas/ticks
with frontline. It appears as if he was an inside cat at one
time. He craves attention and would love to have a place to
make his home. He is well behaved inside. He uses his litter
box perfectly (as do most cats when their litter box is
cleaned regularly!!)

PAIGE AND STEELE Paige was picked up at the Food Lion off Asheville Hwy about September of 2002. She was around 4-5 months old and very feral at the time. She has really come around. She's sweet and approaches me for loving now. She's spayed, UTD shots, dewormed. Steele (and his buddy Hunter) belonged to a woman in the Navy. She was called up for active duty in January and needed to place both of them. Steele took a little time to adjust but has now and is very comfortable. He's a quiet cat, slightly shy but loves to watch the others. He's friendly though. He would do well with more attention. He's neutered, UTD shots, dewormed. |

SNOWBALL is a beautiful white 'himmy' with blue eyes. He's neutered. He's a sweet boy and loves to come to you. Unfortunately his former owners moved off and left him and his buddy to fend for themselves. They have been taken in by a kind rescuer who is looking for a home for them. He was mistreated by the children in the former home so probably best to adopt to a home that doesn't have small children. |

TOM is a beautiful and incrediblity sweet cat. He's about 2 yrs old. Great with kids, he's definitely a lap cat. He loves to approach people and loves to be petted. He's a wonderful boy. He's great at Petsmart where he's been around a lot of noise, cats and dogs when being shown. Tom has FIV but is very healthy. He would be great in a home that wants an only cat with or without dogs. Tom is in a home with dogs. They need to adopt out this wonderful cat because their daugter had cat allergies. |

*FERAL "Feral cats are the 'wild' offspring of domestic cats and are primarily the result of pet owners' abandonment or failure to spay and neuter their animals, allowing them to breed uncontrolled. Feral cat 'colonies' can be found behind shopping areas or businesses, in alleys, parks, abandoned buildings, and rural areas. They are elusive and do not trust humans. Many people assume their animals will survive when they move away and leave them behind. Contrary to popular belief, domestic animals do not automatically return to their "natural" instincts and cannot fend for themselves! Already, U.S. animal shelters are forced to kill an estimated 15 million homeless cats and dogs annually. The alternative to humane euthanasia for almost every stray is a violent end or slow, painful death. Many "throwaways" die mercilessly outdoors from starvation, disease, abuse --- or as food to a predator. A pair of breeding cats, which can have two or more litters per year, can exponentially produce 420,000 offspring over a seven-year period, And the overpopulation problem carries a hefty price tag. Statewide, more than $50 million (largely from taxes) is spent by animal control agencies and shelters for cat-related expenses. " Feral Cat Coalition ![]()
