UPDATE 4/8/06: I am going to keep Alyse. She hasn't bit me anymore. She is starting to check things out a little more. She hasn't really warmed up to my husband yet. She will let him pet her. As soon as I sit down she is on my lap and follows me from room to room. She seems happy. Oh and I think I am changing her name to izzyB. Saw it on a program short for Isabelle. I have always thought it was cute. Thanks for your help. I think she will be a great little friend for us. - Linda ALYSE is a very affectionate sweet mane coon mix. She's very small for a mane coon. She was living in a feral colony off 5th avenue when picked up the summer of 2004. She appeared to have been dumped there as she was too affectionate for a feral cat. She has a beautiful tabby/tiger striped coat w/ med to long hair w/ the mane coon wisps coming out of her ears. She is very small and doesn't have a full tail (appears to have been born that way). She loves to be petted and is very flexible/adaptable to new situations. She loves to be held and is very affectionate. She is still young. She would do well w/ children. Litter box trained. She's FIV/FELV negative, UTD shots and spayed. Soon to be microchipped. 2 yr 1 month old Tiny (<10 lbs.) Female Maine Coon. |

BARLEY
was found behind
Barley's Pizzeria and Taproom mid-April. She had a litter of
kittens, which have all been adopted out. She is now SPAYED
and up-to-date on shots. Barley is a very sweet female gray
tabby who loves to sleep with you and be your alarm clock of
"pet me!" She is a little on the skittish side, but is
warming up and getting bolder. She has been exposed to dogs
and seems fine with them as long as they leave her alone.
She's also been around other cats, but prefers to be the
only cat or to be placed with an easy going male cat rather
than another female. |

CYNTHIA was adopted by a wonderful family that was at Petmart one day while Diane was there and saw her and fell in love with her. She is an inside cat with several other cats and children. She's adjusting very well. the family thought it would be good to teach the children that love doesn't always look perfect--that looks (Cynthia had lost an eye) does't matter. Cynthia has a little girl that adores her and carries her around everywhere. Cynthia age 3 months. She lost an eye due to eye infection, but she isn't bothered, she thinks she's even more adorable with a permanant wink! Happy & playful, ready for a home of her own - she has so much to offer, sweet outgoing personality.

MURRAY TUXEDO CAT - beautiful, very affectionate male. Young, neutered, up-to-date on shots, disease free. |
|
MOMMA Solid white, 8-10 yrs old, spayed female. Momma has some litter box issues that prevent her from being an indoor cat all the time. If she is let in and out regularly as you would a dog, she has no troubles. Momma is an older cat with no known health problems. She is leukemia negative and up to date on boosters. Momma enjoys the outdoor but equally enjoys the couch, for this reason momma will only be adopted to a responsible home willing to allow her to have the best of both worlds by constructing a safe haven off one door of your home. We realize this is a lot to ask but Momma is a beloved rescue, she is too sweet to endanger and because of this, we are sorry there are no exceptions. Momma has very much the personality of a dog, and is still extremely playful at her senior age. This girl will surely live another good 5 to 10 yrs!

LINDSEY was adopted by woman in Johnson City in May. She is very happy at her new home, where she is the only cat and lives with three wonderful children who love her dearly and have learned an valuable lesson from adopting Lindsey - her handicap doesn't stop her from doing anything any other cat could do! (she has just three legs) Lindsey is a very friendly affectionate 1 yr old orange and brown tabby. She is missing the bottom portion of her back leg but plays and jumps with ease. She doens't mind her disability and is looking for an open minded family who won't mind either. |

SMOKEY was adopted by my family. After fostering him a few months we are just unable to part with this handsome love. Smokey is a gorgeous 10 month old male. He is neutered, tested negative and up to date on boosters/rabies. Smokey is a sweet and loving boy who would make a wonderful friend to anyone! He is very bonded to his brother Bandit and we'd like them to stay together but that is not neccessary. Smokey is a beautiful charcoal gray and black striped boy, he has a large, long build and is in excellant health. Smokey's owner was a 21 yr old girl who had owned him since he and his brother were small kittens. Her life circumstances changed and smokey and bandit were left without a home! Smokey was sad that his owner disappeared but is adjusting to his new life well and is responding to the children, dogs and other cats well.

MIA A woman who had 2 FELV cats had one die. The other was missing this one and she wanted to get one to help keep it company. Isnt' that wonderful! MIA has lived at the vet since July of 2002 and I don't know how much longer they will give her. She is a wonderful cat! She was a stray. She's very affectionate and sweet. Loves to be held and loved on. She's a beautiful gray with white on her chest. She's liter box trained. Unfortunately, she has FELV (only 20-30% of cats ever show any signs of the active FELV disease.). She will have to stay inside since she has FELV. She could live w/ other dogs but it's not recommended for her to live w/ other cats unless there's a cat w/FELV. She is very healthy. She could live a full life if taken care of. She's spayed, up-to-date on shots, free of worms.

GEORGE is my senior who refused to use his litter box, He escaped from our home and I hadn't seen him in three days and was at my wits end with worry, my elderly neighbors called me and said they had him, when i went to get him, the older man was nearly in tears. He loved George and just didn't want him to go. I asked them to sign a contract and He would be theirs forever. So, today, after all the heartache george has had in his 12 long years of life of being bounced around and abandoned he has finally found a place to call home. Best of all George is having no potty troubles as their are no other dogs or cats around, so apparently it wasn't that he wanted outdoors he just didn't want to be around other cats. ending like this, a gentle reminder of what we do this for! Congrats to George! He is a special senior. His owners ditched him at the kill shelter after deciding they didn't want him any more and wanted a kitten instead. Poor George was left to die. A wonderful shelter worker urged me to give him a chance, I am so glad that I listened. He is in excellant health and has many good years left. He is such a sweet natured boy, very loving and easy going. He likes other cats and is undettered by dogs. He loves children and loves to be "pet" by our two year old. George is looking for a good home where he can spend the rest of his years. He is just 8 to 10 years old. He will be a wonderful companion and confidant. George is neutered, utd on vaccines and is FIV/LEUK negative. His fee is just $25 to a loving forever home. |
|
Kittens - due between March 27th and April 5th! Kitten fee will be $75 and will include spay/neuter, rabies, boosters, fiv/leuk test, deworming and flea treatment. They will be available at exactly 8 weeks after birth (exceptions may be possible for special circumstances).

"BIG" MABEL has been adopted by me (Jan-Marie)! We found out that Mabel could not be shown to potential adopters as she attacks them if they dare pet her so looks like mabel and I will spend our lives together. She is a fabulous girl, so loving to me, though my children, my husband, my dogs and my other cats suffer at her mercy. Mabel and I have a unique bond and some might even say we look alike. mabel has a nasty attitude and will happily take on the biggest beast you may dare to put before her. Who needs a guard dog with this big girl around? Mabel has taught me that the best of friends don't always come in the most attractive or the friendliest of packages, but there is good in each and every one of God's Creatures and above all else, that we ALL deserve to have love and compassion fill our lives. BIG MABEL is the light of my life. She is a kill shelter rescue who loves indoor life. She is litter trained and enjoys watching TV and relaxing beside me. She is so precious, but doesn't care for the company of other cats, toddlers or dogs. Mabel is young, just a year or two old. She is spayed and fully vetted. Please if you're looking for a fiesty big girl with loads of character consider our Big Mabel. |

His new name is MAUI - Dr. Saabe doesn't want to do his surgery until his cold is better, so we have it scheduled for next Friday. Until then, he is getting 3 medicines (2 oral, 1 eye ointment) - that's fun let me tell you! I hope he still likes me after this week! Anyway, he had a complete exam yesterday and other than his cold he seems fine. He is adjusting great - he
is eating good and is so playful and loving. He's not sure
about our golden retriever yet but I'm sure they will become
great friends. We are having so much fun playing with him,
and he really likes my son, which is what I wanted!

PUMPKIN yellow/orange short haired tiger striped 14 week old kitten. She was born at the flea market. The other kittens in the litter were taken by another cat so this mom held Pumpkin fiercely. Unfortunately, she carried her around everywhere and often dropped her. She experienced some head trauma with vestibular dysfunction. She also suffered damage to her front leg. She has had terrible balance problems and cannot walk in a straight line. Now she has had a front leg amputation. She is learning to balance again and is doing quite well. She is a fighter despite a bad start (she also had ringworm). She is now doing very well. She eats expensive cat food and sleeps in a bed with a little stuffed animal. She is a scrapper and is able to get to her feed and the litter box. She has been adopted by a wonderful family who have been begging for her. The mom is home all day and Pumpkin will be pampered. She will have other cats to play with. |
![]() 11/19/2002 I talked with Pumpkin's new mom and they have named her LILY. Pumpkin is getting along very well. She sleeps with her new Mom and Dad! She is with her new Mom all day--being taken from one room to the next as she is busy with housework or whatever. Pumpkin is adjusting well to the other cats and they to her. They aren't bothering her at all. She loves to be held and loves to be petted. |

ARIA is doing well! She's so happy, inquisitive, affectionate, and (I think) generally perfect. She's become pretty talkative, especially in the morning and when I get home from work--I think she's greeting me! She also loves to play with her furry mice, newspapers, and water. She and our other cat, Pescado, keep each other company. After a couple of days of Pescado hiding under the bed and being confused, they've become very good friends. Having Aria around has brought out the kitten in Pescado and she seems happier than she when she was the only cat. She was found in someones' driveway in the country. She was brought into the shelter by animal control. I went down to Loudon shelter to pick up a St. Bernard and asked if they had any kittens. I took her and two others. She found a home the same day with this gal. ![]()

SNICKERS
was adopted along with Heidi
(below). A female torti
about 6 months old (born around May 1). She is one of the
sweetest kittens I have ever encountered. She absolutely
loves people and loves attention. The day I picked her up
(she was a feral kitten), she was hiding in a trash can,
hissing and spitting. She came around really fast! Snickers
is FIV/FELV negative. She's soon to be spayed. She has had
her shots and is on advantage for fleas. She loves to play,
loves to cuddle and crawl under the covers with you. She
makes excellent eye contact and loves to ride on your
shoulders. She has a beautiful long coat. She will be a
small cat (her mother at the flea market is small). Snickers
would make a wonderful wonderful pet! |

She's the sister of Luke (and another little longhaired female that isn't socialized yet). She, Luke and the other one were found huddled under a car tire at the Wendy's Restaraunt off Asheville Hwy. She was picked up and brought to me. She had upper respiratory infection and was very scared. She sure has come around. She's very sweet and affectionate. She seeks people out and loves to be held. She loves to be cuddled. She will let you turn her over on her back and rub her tummy. She has such a sweet personality. She is completely litter box trained. LUKE went to a great home--will live with a gal and a lab puppy. He and the puppy were already doing well together. The puppy (6 month old Chester) is very gentle w/ Luke. Luke was making himself at home and enjoying climbing everywhere--checking everything out! He loves looking out the windows and has plenty to look out of. He's already gotten lots of toys and is having so much fun playing with all of them. He's to be neutered on 1/11/03. He is an adorable tiger stripped long haired kitten. He's around 7-8 weeks old. He'll be a small cat. He is FIV/FELV negative, dewormed and treated for fleas. He was taken from a feral colony at the last feral trapping. He is now socialized, almost completely trained on using the litter box and very sweet. He has the best personality .He loves to be held (he's come a long way). Very healthy and has a good appeitite. Would make a great pet!

JENNY Jenny is still a scared little gal. She seems to do best when living in a crate. We are trying to slowly expand the size of the crate so that eventually she can adjust to living outside one. The last person that had her left her in a small crate for too long. Consequently, she freaks out when outside the crate. She will need TLC but she is really sweet and loves to be held. Looking for a very special home for Jenny. Beautiful female torti-colored cat. She is spayed, up-to-date (up-to-date) on shots, FIV and leukemia negative. |

LINDY
has been adopted into a wonderful home where she will be
very much loved. She'll live with a pug named Hank. Hank is
gentle but very curious. Lindy did so well when she first
went over there. She was curious and checked out everything
very well. She cried during the night--looking for her
buddies but she will come around. She is doing so well.
She's sleeping part of the night in one bed and part in
another. She's avoiding the dog but doesn't seem to be too
scared on him. They are a wonderful home! ![]() She is about 6-7 months old. She was born around April/May. She is another kitten from the farmer's market. She's a beautiful long haired tabby. she has a beautiful coat. She was very afraid when I first trapped her. It took her a little bit to come around but she has adjusted wonderfully! She loves to be held, petted and kissed. She craves attention. She is FIV/FELV negative. She's had her shots and will soon be spayed. She unforunatley had a bad eye infection before I picked her up and developed scar tissue on top of the eye. I tried treating it but wasn't able to correct it. It doesn't affect her function at all. I still think she's beautiful. Hopefully she'll find a wonderful home that will love her despite the one eye that is scarred over. |

BRINDY Adopted 12 / 04 / 2002 Brindy has finally been adopted by a wonderful family! She's such a sweet gal and so very beautiful, I'm surprised it's taken this long. She met her new family last night and was pretty scared but she went around checking things out. Good sign! She will be well loved and will live with two adorable dogs and 4 kids. She will be an inside cat (she's never been outside so she wouldn't know how to handle herself). She is very blessed to have finally found such a wonderful home. She was born the last week of March to a feral cat at the Farmers Market. Unable to catch the mom. Brindy was nursed by KATIE ('surrogate mom' waiting for a home) instead. Brindy is spayed, up to date on shots and soon to be micro chipped. She is very playful and full of personality. She gets along great with other cats; she actually prefers to have them around. She loves to cuddle and purrs constantly when you are around. She has a beautiful coat. She will be a medium length haired cat. A wonderful kitten! Brindy is also litter box trained and disease free. |

He loves the cat gym!! We are going to get him one of those play stands and a window seat so he can watch the birds while we are at work! He is spoiled rotten!!" Adopted 5/18/02 PEDRO is a 10 wk old long haired tabby kitten. His story is that he and his sister were born as ferals living behind an apartment complex off Chapman Hwy road. (They are the third litter of kittens we've gotten this spring). He is FIV and FLV negative and started on shots. He had toxicity (mild) but is much better now. Adopted 8/30/02 ROCKY and DAISY. They are orange and white fluff balls; medium length hair. They have been adopted by a young couple living in Powell who are both teachers. They were strays kittens (2 of 4 w/ a mom) that came from Claxton. I was contacted by a lady at the Farmer's Market about taking them. This kind couple agreed to take two so that they would have a playmate. They have full run of the house and are keep as only inside cats. They have found a wonderful home! Adopted 10/17/02 one of the feral cats that was at Wendys on Asheville Hwy. He is a solid grey male cat (approx 6 months) that will now be an inside cat. He will live with another cat and with a family.

LADY A Russian Blue, about 2-3 yrs old. Lady was found almost dead from an upper resp infection and anemia. It took over a month of IVs and meds to nurse her back to health. Once healthy, her adorable personality came out. She is playful and loves to cuddle. She was adopted by a family whose son wanted a cat. What attracted them to her is that she's a Russian blue. This family goes to Russia several times a year for Christian outreach and distribution of medical supplies and wheelchairs. She is very happy, sunning herself on the sunporch and sleeping with her new "Dad! Her family is such a blessing! |
